Celebs Pages Redesign

Process

Background
Constant User Feedback on My Page
As My Page was one of the service's most used features—used by about 50% of daily users—we regularly received user complaints about inefficiency and lack of visibility. We realized that addressing these issues could be an excellent opportunity to raise engagement.
research
Collecting Insights by Interview, Validating with Data
I interviewed two internal and two external users to understand their usage of My Page and the problems they encountered. Then, I verified the issues and identified the size of each problem with event log data.
"When recommending content to a friend, I look at the recent content I've rated. But because of the way the archive library is structured, I have to go back and forth between Movies and TV shows."

"I tend to "like" comments that I like or things that resonate with me because I want to collect and see them later."

"On My Page, I check my ratings and watchlist the most... Sometimes, I reflect on all my ratings and change the scores."

UX Problems
Non-intuitive Structure for the Primary Task
I identified various problems and opportunities, and we prioritized the issues with "Must," "Should," and "Could" criteria based on the user feedback we received and the frequency of the problem. To keep it short, I will only articulate the "Must" and "Should" issues below.
01. Inconvenience in Accessing Archives Due to Unnecessary Depth
Through user interviews and observation, I identified common usage on My Page. Users used to navigate lists between multiple categories back and forth due to its complex structure.
02. Lack of Transparency for Using "Like" Action
Interviews revealed a trend of using the "like" action to refer to the contents or comments later, similar to the primary use of My Page - accessing archives. However, few users visited the "Like" page, likely due to its non-intuitive access in the existing layout.
Goal setting
Improving Experience on the Most Used Function
My goal was to solve the "Must" problem, primarily related to "Library" and archiving behavior, which was the most frequently used, so that it could improve many users' experiences.
Users can access and review their archive (saved content) more conveniently.
Strategy
Reimagining the Library Layout
Result
Increased visits and positive feedback
Visits to My Page significantly increased, with per-user visitation growing by 21%. Furthermore, we have obtained qualitative feedback through internal surveys and user interviews, confirming satisfaction with the improvements.

Meanwhile, "Like" page usage increased by 54% and displayed an upward trajectory when looking at the daily graphs. This figure indicates a gradual increase in awareness and use of the "Like" section.

This result helped us understand that creating a shorter path to key features can grow engagement and user satisfaction.
